A lot of people could have the night off if the TV networks would just run old Times Square footage, maybe just with the correct year superimposed over the numbers that light up after the ball drops. It looks the same every year anyway, so no one will notice.

The city of Burbank, California, was today repainting the red "no parking" and the green "10-minute parking" zones of the curbs along Burbank Boulevard. How festive!

Over the weekend, another apartment, within view of mine, sprouted a DirecTV dish. If only DirecTV were a separate company so it would be possible to buy stock in it!

I had a private screening of "Elf" this afternoon. Well, private in the sense that I was the only person in the auditorium at the AMC theater in Burbank. I guess every other person in southern California who wanted to see it managed to see it over the Thanksgiving holiday.
